Bouncer
A jump-rope counter for iPhone that counts your jumps by sound — phone on the floor, no watch or smart rope required.
The "counts by sound" story
Most jump-rope apps assume you own a smart rope or a watch. Bouncer's starting point is the opposite: put your iPhone on the floor next to you and start jumping. The app listens for the low-frequency thump of the rope striking the ground, compares it against an adaptive noise floor that adjusts to the room, and counts each landing the moment it crosses that threshold — a short refractory window stops a single landing from being counted twice. Every audio frame is analysed and then discarded; nothing is recorded, saved, or uploaded. Apple Watch and AirPods motion counting are built in as alternatives for people who'd rather use their wrist or earbuds, but sound counting is the mode that needs nothing extra at all.

What makes it different
- No hardware requirement. Competing jump-rope counters generally need a smart rope, a watch, or both. Bouncer's sound mode works with the iPhone you already own.
- Three counting methods, one app. Sound, Apple Watch, and AirPods motion counting all live in the same app, so the method can match whatever the user has on hand that day.
- Privacy-first by construction, not by policy. The sound detector processes each audio frame and throws it away immediately — there's no recording to protect because none is made.
- Free to jump, forever. Core counting and workout tracking are free; the subscription only unlocks coaching extras.
